Windows 10: Move Recovery Partition

1. Add space to the disk via VMWare, Hyper-V, etc...
2. In diskmgmt.msc make a filler partition and leave enough space at the end of the disk to move recovery to it.
3. Create another partition with the remaining space. This is where our Recovery Partition will move to. Here we are using N.
4. Using DISKPART
   • list disk
   • select disk <of recovery partition>
   • list partition
   • select partition <of recovery partition>
   • assign letter=O
5. In an elevated command prompt
   • Dism /Capture-Image /ImageFile:C:\recovery-partition.wim /CaptureDir:O:\ /Name:"Recovery"
   • Dism /Apply-Image /ImageFile:C:\recovery-partition.wim /Index:1 /ApplyDir:N:\
6. Register the location of the recovery tools
   • reagentc /disable
   • reagentc /setreimage /path N:\Recovery\WindowsRE
   • reagentc /enable
7. Back in diskpart hide the recovery partition
   • For UEFI:
     • select volume N
     • set id="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac"
     • gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001
     • remove
   • For BIOS
     • select volume N
     • set id=27
     • remove
8. Delete the old recovery partition
   • list partition
   • select partition <of old recovery partition>
   • delete partition override
9. Reboot the computer
10. Verify recovery partition is working
    • reagentc /info
