From start to finish

JudgeAutos is a Progressive Web Application for automotive event management. It streamlines contestant registration, judging, and results while eliminating paper, reducing errors, and delivering real-time results for organizers, hosts, and participants.

Create Your Account

The first thing to do is Create an Account. Only the host of the event needs to create an account on JudgeAutos. There is no need for everyone in an organization or anyone participating to create an account.

Please don't forget to check your email to verify your account!

Choose a Package

Once an account has been created the next step is to select an Event Package that is right for you. Pro Event fits most all shows, but if you're having a smaller event or hosting an event for the first time Starter or Basic Events work well.

Setup Your Event

Let's get started with our Event Setup!

Claiming the Event

Upon purchasing an Event Package, you will be redirected to claim your event. This is the first step in setting up your Event where you set a location, name, and the date for the Event.

If you do not get redirected, the page to visit is https://www.judgeautos.com/Events?tab=unclaimed. From the table, select your purchased package and enter your Event Information.

Forms

Every event has access to a type of Form. Pro and Showcase Events can create custom Registration and Judging forms, starting with Basic Events Class Lists can be used, and all Events have customizable options set in the Options Form. To get started with Forms select the blue user icon in the top right of the application, and then select Forms under your account details.

Options Form

From the Forms page select the Options tab. You will notice an unchangeable Default Options form which is assigned to all Events configured to our recommended settings. To enable a feature, simply enter a Name and Description into the table and press the blue plus icon.

Selecting the form from the list allows you to make any desired changes to your event.

Note, Options need to be set before the Event Date as they cannot be changed once the Event is "Active". An Event is automatically made active by the system on the Event's date and is automatically "Completed" when the Event's Date has passed with a registration that has been judged.

In the current release of JudgeAutos (1.1.020226) the only option available via Options Form is People's Choice voting allowing guests to vote for their favorite contestant. In future releases, options will include judge locking, DJ support, pre-registration, vendor options, contestant notifications and voting, event timing controls, and more. Let us know what you would like to see next by submitting feedback!

Class Lists

To get started with Class Lists we go back to our Forms page. Same as before, to create a new List simply enter a Name and Description and press the blue plus icon. In the List you can add as many classes as your event needs and the best part is, this list can be used in any event!

Registration Form

Next, we have Registration Forms. Accessible via the Forms page and also created in the same manner as Class Lists and Options by entering a Name and Description into the table and pressing the blue plus icon.

As with the Options form there is a default Registration form which should fit most use cases, but if there is information you would like to collect for Registration purposes that can be set here. Notice the blue light bulbs, however. These are Fixed Fields which the application has to have to operate, and they are required during contestant registration.

Note, that the phone number is "required", but if a contestant does not want to provide their number enter a fake 10 digit number instead.

Information returned by the application for public's viewing in JudgeAutos version 1.1.020226 is set to match the Default Registration form fields. To have your fields displayed to guests, ensure the Name field contains one of the Default values.

Judge Form

Finally, we have Judging Forms. Accessible via the Forms page and also created in the same manner as all other Forms by entering a Name and Description into the table and pressing the blue plus icon.

Custom Judging forms gives the ability to create your own criteria on how contestants are judged. Anything you can imagine and give a score to is set here.

  • Exterior cleanliness and condition
  • Audio system performance
  • Fit, finish, and attention to detail
  • Suspension setup, ride height, and articulation
  • Custom fabrication and welding
  • Theme consistency or originality
Adding Forms to Events

Now that we have the Forms created, we can add them to Events. Access your Events via the blue user icon in the top right and then selecting Events.

Unless you purchased your Event the day of your Event, it should be located under the Upcoming tab.

Once you have selected your Event you should see four tabs. We edit our event under the Event tab. Here we set our Forms, Options, download a QRCode for flyers, a link to share, or view the Event Page.

Participants

All Events have Registrars, and Judges. Future releases of JudgeAutos will include food trucks, DJs, vendors, and more that can interact with your Event.

Registrars and Judges

To add a Registrar or a Judge to an Event we want to access our Events page by pressing the blue user icon in the top right, selecting Events, and then accessing the event in the correct tab.

Once in the Event, there is a tab for each type of participant. Access the correct tab and select Add. Giving administrator rights to Registrars and Judges gives that user the ability to go back and edit information on registered or judged contestants.

Note, only one contact method is required but a valid phone number is highly recommended.

Once the participant has been added they can now be invited to the event. Select the user from the corresponding table, press the invite button next to their preferred contact information, and confirm the invitation.

If the system returns that the phone number is invalid, please Contact Us.

Below is a preview of what a participant would receive, however the URL has been redacted for security purposes. As of release 1.1.020226, only Registrars can access an Event prior to the Event Date, whereas judges will receive an error that the Event has yet to start. Future releases of JudgeAutos will reference the Options Form on how to handle Event access.

Event View

The Event View is a public facing page that anyone can view. This is where guests interact with your event, and access features such as People’s Choice voting. From the Event Details page, a link can be found to share, and a QRCode can be downloaded and used on any marketing material.

The host can customize the Event View by toggling Customize and selecting Options. In these options, what you want guests to see you toggle on or off.

  • The "Image" can be any png, jpg, or jpeg file you desire, but it is recommended to upload your Event's flyer here.
  • Textarea provides an area for you to add a custom message to your guests about your event.
  • A website, email, or phone number can be added as well so your guests can know who to contact or where to find more information.

Below is an example of what your Event View could look like to a guest with all Options enabled.

Host Your Event

Now the fun begins! Your Event is all setup and you're ready to host it.

Registration

The method on how you get contestants registered is up to you. You can setup a booth, have roaming registrars, a combination of both, or something of your own design. With JudgeAutos registration is a breeze. Users enter a contestant's information, give them their registration number judges use for judging, and that's it! The number only needs to be displayed on the contestant's entry for the judges.

On the Registration page the Number field is not required as the system will always take the next available number if one is not provided. This ensures no numbers are skipped which could cause confusion for judges but also allows registrars to enter numbers as they please. In a future release, this auto incrementation will be configured in the Options Form.

Registrars that are given administrator rights get an additional tab, "Registrations", that allows them to select any registration from the list and make any necessary changes or deletions.

Judging

Just as with registration JudgeAutos makes judging as simple as it gets. With the contestant's registration number displayed on their entry judges simply enter then number, judge, and they are done!

Judges with administrator rights can go back and edit results as needed to break ties, correct errors, or make sure nothing was missed. NOTE, unlike the registrar table the entries cannot be pressed, and administrators need to resubmit the registration number. A clickable table may be added in a future release, and Locked Judging will be added to allow administrators to view but not change results.
